QA/QC inspection is continuous rather than event-based. Where third-party inspection attends for a defined hold point and factory inspection covers a manufacturing order, QA/QC inspectors work alongside your project — on your site, to your inspection and test plan, for as long as the work runs.

24/7 coverage

Fabrication and construction do not stop at five o'clock, and neither does the requirement to witness what is being built. ITMAD provides inspection cover around the clock, including night shift, weekends and continuous shutdown work. A hold point reached at 2am is attended at 2am — the alternative is a crew standing idle until morning or, worse, proceeding past the hold point unwitnessed.

What we cover

Working to your ITP

The inspection and test plan defines what is checked, at what stage, by whom, and what evidence is retained. Our quality control inspectors work to your ITP where you have one, and will review it and identify gaps where you want that — commonly missing hold points at stages that cannot be inspected once covered, or witness points assigned to parties who will not be present.

Hold points are enforced as hold points. Work does not proceed past them until inspected and released, and where schedule pressure produces a request to release retrospectively, the answer is recorded rather than negotiated.

Non-conformance management

• Non-conformities raised at the point of detection, with objective evidence and photographs
• Classification by severity, distinguishing what stops work from what is tracked
• Disposition tracked through to closure rather than logged and forgotten
• Verification that corrective action was effective, not merely completed

Inspector qualifications

QC inspectors are qualified to the discipline they work in — welding inspectors to CSWIP or AWS CWI, NDT personnel to ISO 9712 or ASNT SNT-TC-1A, and civil and structural inspectors with the relevant experience and certification. Where a client specification requires particular qualifications or approvals, personnel are assigned to match, and credentials are provided for verification before mobilisation.

Accreditation and approvals

ITMAD is accredited to ISO/IEC 17020 as an inspection body, is an ADNOC approved inspection contractor, and is listed on the Abu Dhabi City Municipality register of Approved Third Party Inspection Bodies. Certificates are issued in the format required by the governing authority, including Dubai Municipality and the Dubai free zone authorities. ITMAD acts for the client and holds no interest in the contractor, the supplier or the outcome of the work being inspected.
